Finally I'm back to post! FYP is finally over. But that also means my time in NYP as a student has come to an end. I'm never going back there for lectures, lab or any kind of lesson ever again :(

I really am going to miss the place....I know I can always come back to visit but it's not the same feeling. FYP has been a bore and a blast all at the same time. I'm really gonna miss my lab mates...even those I've never spoken to

Joanne, Cornelia, Myanmmar girl (sorry, dunno her name), LiKim, Alex, Darren 2, Ridzuan, Rui Qi, Artiqah, Jelinda, Derek, Fadhil, the 3 unknown people in the corner too...

Not forgetting my longtime buddies Riyan, Jarryd, Yi Hong, Darren (I'll still be seeing him around with the Renegades though) Ezaline and of course...the one and only Barry the sableh!!! xD

And my two project partners Wei Loon and Ya Fei, it's been a real honour working with you guys on that useless project of ours. HAHAHA! Yeah and not forgetting my supervisor Frankie Chan. So sorry if I missed anyone out....

sob sob...

Hey I'm back

I really have no mood to blog these days so here's a quick update. That National Infocomm Competition quiz was too damn hard so I seriously doubt we'll make it to the finals. Oh well....

NAPFA training is still going on. I failed the first time round (surprise surprise) so I still have to keep running. SIAN!!

Driving lessons are going great. I finally started driving outside instead of the circuit alone. I always thought driving outside would be much harder than the circuit but I found that it was the exact opposite. And I got to drive the Honda City. I thought SSDC only provided the old Hondas for manual lessons but they do have manual versions of the City.

As for movies, I saw Shoot 'Em Up and Superbad. Shoot 'Em Up is a movie heavy on action, violence, sex and gunfights. Just the way I like it. Heh.
Superbad is a great comedy though you might think that NO WAY can anyone go to those lengths to secure themselves some booze.

DEAFCON 6 was the first time I saw the Renegades shorthanded for any event. There were only FOUR of us and the merch booth was even left alone for some time. By me. Oops. And I got a surprise when I saw one of the groups performing: Psykelekticz! aka Naufal, Malek and Aidil from my YSS days! The next DEAFCON will be on the 10th of November at DXO so do come down yeah.

And today I went to Crab Shack with Serene to sample their Fish 'N Chips. The piece was smaller than expected because I was expecting something as large as a picture I saw on EDMW (It practically covered the entire plate!!!) But sadly, it was just the regular size as served in most other shops this time round. Taste-wise, the fish was very fresh and soft. The tartar sauce was excellent and the taste of the fries reminded me of potato chips. Pretty good overall for $6.50. I'd also like to say a big thank you to Serene for today =)

These two weeks have been spent doing my final year project at block L. Which means that I have to be at school from 8.30am to 6pm everyday. No more going home early :(

My project involves developing a tracking system for missing laptops. Sounds cool but when you consider the way I've been told to do it, I doubt it would be very useful in a real scenario. I'm working in a 3-person group so it's not so bad

Many people are bored to death during FYP but they do some crazy (but expected) stuff to pass the time. Lecturer visits are also pretty rare here. Dangerous combination indeed

I also have other stuff in my FYP hours like training for some infocomm quiz and NAPFA training...

Zzzzz

Yes they were here!! Four of the Heroes cast members! Hiro (Masi Oka), Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg), Nikki/Jessica Sanders (Ali Larter) and Mohinder Suresh (Senthil Ramamurthy)

They were scheduled to arrive at Vivocity at 3pm. Me and Caylynn reached there by 12pm and proceeded to camp at a good spot at the side of the stage. By 3pm, it was EXTREMELY crowded.

Then two channel V VJs arrived on stage and proceeded to talk cock (heh)

At one point at almost 4pm, they announced that the Heroes cast were in the building, at which point the crowd went WILD

And then....They arrived on stage!!

They arrived! Greg is so damn funny in real life. He rapped while Masi beatboxed. And when asked by a female what she was thinking (he plays a mind reader in the show) he replied "I can't tell you. There are kids here!" (Or something to that effect)

But before we knew it, the Confetti was blasted....

And they were off. NOOOO!!! It wasn't even 15 minutes!!! But the fans weren't about to let them escape so easily

And neither was I. The whole damn crowd CHASED after them. Me included. The shot below is ACCIDENTAL. I swear!

Got this great but blurred shot by accident too

Chased them all the way to the Vivocity exit where their bus was waiting

And it was goodbye to the Heroes!!

Last wednesday was the ITSM exam. It was manageable. Oh and it was held in E.308. The Phat Nite room of all places. Rather weird having a paper there....

Then last friday was ICT Infrastructure management paper. Hard! But can pass I hope... Oh and Mr Foo refused to teach us VLSM! What is this? This is blasphemy...this is madness! So we had to find Elizabeth Sim to teach us...

And today....the final paper. Network and Servers security. Went to school at 7.15am damn worried. But I didn't have to....paper was mostly easy. Zzzzz

The following night (i.e just now), went to celebrate at Liquid Kitchen with...someone! You know who you are. LOL

Blue Lagoon! Should have ordered something with stronger alcohol. It would also be weird to ask the waitress for a 'blow job' or 'sex on the beach' -_-

I've been busy lately so apologies for the lack in updates. I don't even know where to start....

Ok I got myself a new watch (the old one died) a Casio G-Shock cockpit series. Always wanted a cockpit series watch. Heh.

Then I was struggling with projects. The ICT Infrastructure one was a royal pain in the ass. None of us had any idea how to do it....but we managed to do it. Now I'm just hoping for a pass for that module.

Then there was the final project: Technopreneurship. We put aside our differences and chionged it. The presentation didn't go that well on the actual Entrepreneurship Day but luckily the judges were nice to us. Oh and I was on mouse clicking duty so didn't present. LOL!

Common tests: comm skills was manageable enough. ICT Development & Deployment too.

Then there was BAYBEATS!!! I was REALLY looking forward to this one. I went with Skylar but it wasn't at the usual venue. It was changed to the Esplanade park area. So anyway we watched all the acts for the night on the stage: Allura, Deputy Siren, A Vacant Affair, The Love Story and Blindside. Skylar was there for Blindside but I wasn't a fan. I have to say they're DAMN good! Blindside from Sweden. Do check them out. Here's a video courtesy of Skylar

But for me, the local band I was most attracted to was Allura. This was the first time hearing any of their songs and I have to say they left quite an impression on me. Here's a song from their first set. Don't know the title though

I look forward to their show at DEAFCON 5 this saturday! Speaking of which, there's still time to get your tickets but you better hurry!

And finally....the dreaded exams are next week and the week after. Wish me luck!

Ok now there are TWO projects left! ITSM and that networking project. Hopefully everything's cleared by the end of this week. These few weeks have been busy! There was BandzOut 2007 which The Leviathan (Consisting of Kamal, Darren, Saiful, Sebastian, Shazwan and JP) won second place originally. But then the winning band had a non-NYP member and were disqualified!!

How could that happen?! As an ex BandzOut committee member, I am shocked! Don't tell me the guy was a good conman?! So The Leviathan got first place by default. WTF indeed

Next up was Phat Nite. I stayed for about 45 minutes during which I caused some trouble. Disturbed the door security, attempted to cross the barrier to the DJ side (that was eXe by the way) and brought a drink into the dance room (not allowed!!)

Now the latest thing. I'm looking for a new watch. A new Casio G-Shock in fact. Or maybe try to get my old one repaired...
